“Coastal Itinerary”

8 days - 5 rounds of golf   
A great self-drive golf package to some of the finest golf courses in Northern California, including visits to the Napa Valley, Half Moon Bay and Carmel-Pebble Beach. Play private clubs like Pasadera CC by Jack Nicklaus, and enjoy top hotels like The Quail Lodge in Carmel.

Your itinerary begins in the classic confines of the Silverado Resort in the beautiful Napa Valley, ventures down the California coast to the fabulous Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay, and ends in quaint Carmel-by-the-Sea. Great sightseeing, wine tasting and golf is all part of this deluxe itinerary, including rounds at Silverado GC, the Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay and Quail Lodge GC in Carmel Valley.

In all, a wonderful combination of golf, wine tasting, sightseeing and gourmet cuisine on this itinerary. This is one of the best self drive golf packages offered in America, and since WWG is located here, we'll make it even more special for you!

Day 1 - Arrive San Francisco and transfer to Silverado Resort in the Napa Valley.

Day 2 - Golf Silverado GC and then enjoy some wine tasting in local vineyards such as Silver Oak or Duckhorn Vineyards.

Day 3 - Golf Chardonnay GC and then visit more private vineyards in the Napa Valley.

Day 4 - Transfer to the stunning new Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton, maybe stopping in Sonoma, Sausalito or San Francisco en route. Optional golf available upon arrival.

Day 5 - Golf the Half Moon Bay Ocean GC and afternoon free to enjoy this beautiful resort.

Day 6 - Transfer to Carmel and check in at The 5 star Quail Lodge Resort and afternoon golf at Quail Lodge GC.

Day 7 - Morning round of golf at Pasadera CC, a private Jack Nicklaus club. Afternoon wine tasting available in Carmel Valley.


Day 8 - Depart Monterey or extend your vacation to Carmel Valley or Pebble Beach. (B)

The Dolphin Inn is located in downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea within walking distance of all the quaint shops, restaurants and the beach. This offer features 3, 5 or 7 night stays at The Dolphin Inn (or Svendsgaards Inn across the street). From here, you are in the midst of the great wineries and golf courses of The Monterey Peninsula.

What You Should Know

 

CADDIES: In our experience, we have found that many golfers prefer caddies at Pebble Beach, Spyglass etc where available. Wide World of Golf can request caddies, per your request, and we have a list of our favorite caddies from which we’ll hand pick your perfect match. Please be aware that caddies are independent contractors, and therefore can only be requested, and never guaranteed. Neither Wide World of Golf, nor the individual courses have any control over caddie availability. However, once the caddies have been requested, and become available to you, you are obligated to pay them (the caddie fees vary from course to course, and they range from $60-$100 per bag including tip). WWG will let you know appropriate rates and tips, but plan on an average of $80 per bag.

CARTS: Carts are always included and part of the green fee and tour price, regardless whether or not you take a caddy. There are no discounts or refunds for walking.

HOTELS AND UPGRADES: Our itineraries specifically detail your room type(s), based on availability. Guests can always request upgraded rooms, rooms with views, or suites for a supplemental cost. Single room privilege can also be provided for extra cost. Rooms normally have one or two queen size beds with private bathroom and shower/tub. A $20 room service fee per day is included at the Pebble Beach Resorts (Spanish Bay and Lodge at Pebble Beach) for doormen, porters, concierge staff etc (restaurant gratuities are not included in this fee).

RESTAURANTS AND SIGHTSEEING: WWG will provide you with a list of sampled restaurants and sightseeing suggestions. Whereas restaurants vary by experience, and sightseeing attractions can be closed, guests are requested to call ahead for reservations and reconfirm intentions with your hotel concierge or local WWG office. Dinners shown as included, or dinner gift certificates, do not include beverages or gratuities.

RENTAL VEHICLES: WWG normally utilizes automatic transmission rental vehicles where available. Vehicle types are subject to change based on availability. Pick up or drop off at locations other than Monterey, California airport may require a surcharge. Limousines, passenger vans and motorcoaches can be chartered for group use for a supplemental fee.

 

OTHER: WWG can make special arrangements for event tickets, group dinners with wine, winery tours, sightseeing tours with professional guides, and more. Call for suggestions.
